Made by Swarovski, this is a RARE mid-war variant, featuring black crackle (Faltenlack) paint!Issued to Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe personnel during the Second World War, theDienstglas 6×30was the standard-issue field binocular used across all branches of service. Produced by multiple optical manufacturers, including the well-knowncag(Swarovski Optische Werke, Tyrol, Austria), these binoculars were highly regarded for their clarity, rugged construction, and compact size. While most 6×30 examples were finished in leatherette or smooth paint, a small production run around 1941–1942 featured this distinctive black crackle 'Faltenlack' finish – a rare wartime coating designed for durability and non-reflectivity.Made of brass and aluminum by Swarovski Optische Werke AG, these 6×30 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition!Dating around 1942, the lens bodies retain about 95% of their original paint and black crackle finish, and the end piece fittings are 100% intact! The optics are in PERFECT alignment and are exceptionally clear, with full functionality, smooth focusing, and no haze or fungus. The right side body is marked Dienstglas(Service Binoculars), 6×30; and the left side is marked 'cag' for Swarovski Optische Werke AG. As they are in used condition, there are some slight marks and scratches throughout. Comes complete with the original Neck Strap and Rain Shield! An EXCELLENT and scarce variant, seldom encountered in this condition, would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
