Sold
£35.00

Description

Here on offer is an unusual Victorian cast brass doorstop, depicting a Scottish soldier in dress uniform, wearing a kilt, and large sporran, circa 1888.The doorstep has been cast in solid brass in Scotland and actually has the Glasgow foundry name on the back, but I just can't make it out the name, just the word GLASGOWCast in raised letters on the front of the base are the words:BONNIE SCOTLANDThis example is in great condition with some wear to the detailing and the brass now has a nice aged patina. It makes an impressive display piece of military related memorabilia and still works as a great doorstop! The doorstop measures 11.5' (29.2cm) high and 5.5' (14cm) wide at the base.It weighs a heavy 1.345Kg.Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description. Please see my TERMS OF BUSINESS regarding Deliver Charges and Insurance regarding additional insurance cover, should you require it, BEFORE the item is dispatched. The responsibility lies with the customer to check with your Customs restrictions that this item can be imported into your country.
