US Spanish American War Canvas Toiletry Roll & Flannel Abdominal Belt

Original era manufacture. A dark khaki cotton toiletry roll with a printed American flag sewn to the exterior. When unrolled, we find an assortment of compartments which the soldier could fill with whatever doo-dads, he or his family, chose to burden him with. The gray flannel abdominal wrap is size marked 2. These were considered necessary  by the Medical Department to ward off illnesses likely to be contracted in the tropics. Near new condition, sure these were a great hit in the Philippines and Cuba.
