The 1939 National Register of England records Geoffrey married to Frances Joan Allen (nee Wilcox) and employed as a Travelling Varnish & Paint Salesman - as well as serving as a volunteer Fireman with the Auxiliary Fire Service - the couple residing at 130 Church Road, Moseley, BirminghamA collectors typed note accompanying the medals states:Quote,Geoffrey B. Allen: Warrant Number 5704. Birmingham Special Constabulary Reserve. E Division Mobile officer No. R'288. Joined 30th September 1941. Stationed at Moseley Street, King's Heath Police stations.
