These were used in various Navy Ships, Barracks, and Mess Halls throughout the war.Produced in 1939 for Navy field-issue use, this pattern represents the early aluminum cutlery supplied before the transition to steel later in the war.Hessische Metallwarenfabrik Ziegenhainwas one of the primary production centers for wartime arms and cutlery, supplying the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe with mess utensils through mid-war.Made of aluminum, this is a GOOD example!There are some slight wear and marks due to the age, but nothing that detracts.
