You are bidding on aVERY NICE used example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Wehrmacht Aluminum Field Knife, stamped'A.W.Jr.S. 41'(August Wellner & Söhne, Aue/Sachsen). These were used in various Army Barracks and Mess Halls throughout the war.Produced in 1941 for Army field-issue use, this pattern represents the early aluminum cutlery supplied before the transition to steel later in the war.August Wellner & Söhne, Aue/Sachsenwas one of the primary production centers for wartime arms and cutlery, supplying the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe with mess utensils through mid-war.Made of aluminum, this is a GOOD example!There are some slight wear and marks due to the age, but nothing that detracts. No bends or corrosion, all markings clear and legible. It is marked with the National Eagle, as well as the maker code and production year.A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
