You are bidding on aVERY NICE example of an ORIGINAL early-production Korean War US Air Force Guardian Electric B-8G2 Aircraft Control Stick Grip!This type was introduced in the early 1950s and became standard equipment across numerous U.S. Air Force fighter aircraft including theF-86 Sabre,F-84 Thunderjet / Thunderstreak, and theearly F-100 Super Sabre!Developed from the WWII-era AN-series grips, the new B-8 pattern was designed for electric trim, weapons release, and radio control functions in post-war jet aircraft. Early examples such as this one pre-date the use of FSN or NSN catalog numbers and are distinguished by theirlarge 19-pin AN/MS-type connectorand molded phenolic housing. The B-8 family remained in service well into the Cold War and was the foundation of nearly all U.S. and NATO jet control systems for the next two decades.Made of steel, aluminum, and rubber, this Control Stick Grip is in EXCELLENT used condition! Some marks, wear, and stains as it was used in combat, but nothing that detracts. Features include the correct black textured composite body, red dual push-buttons, and trigger lever, with original 19-pin connector assembly still attached. It is marked'80C4091 ASSY'and'131702', identifying it as aGuardian Electric Mfg. Co., Chicagoproduction piece dating between1952 and 1956. All button function correctly, and there are no cracks or structural damage. I have shown its location in the last photos.
