IMPORTANT NOTICE about this cap! Friends, evidently this cap has a lot more history than was relayed to us by a very trusted consigner. In today's climate of questionable SS memorabilia, there is no way SS-Steel,I and my colleagues, are going to ever market an item that we didn't have utmost confidence in. I am absolutely, happily doing this deal back with the buyer, who is a good friend and, deserves the best we can offer. Sincere regards, Kelly / SS-Steel team.——Old listing below——(This cap is in a word, exquisite. It is a fine quality ribbed gabardine body, with the expected, correct lindesamt velvet cap band. The edging is aluminum for General Officer ranks. The badging consists of a perfect set of aluminum skull and eagle, the skull being a Deschler and the eagle a Zimmerman. I assume they are re-applied, as many examples are. The interior construct is a cream-colored silk blend, with full sweatband and sweat shield. Overall, the cap is in fine, nearly un-worn condition. The sweatband is somewhat dry, as it is made of ersatz leatherette material, which shows some splits from handling. The box, is maker-marked and fully intact, including the strap. Items of this quality are difficult to acquire in any condition, and this one is just fabulous for the advanced SS collection. COA accompanies.)
