Description
Stunning condition M1 Helmet paired with an early low pressure St Clair Liner. The shell is numbered 42A which indicates a mid to late 1941 MC Cord production. This makes it one of the first M1 shells made. The helmet retains its original cork finish and paint. Straps are original to the shell and have the early brass raised bar buckle. The liner is a Type 2 St Clair liner in equally good condition with rectangular washers and rayon webbing, with snap-in rayon headband. The liner still retains its permanently attached leather chinstrap often missing from these early liners. It is however torn on one side, but remains complete. The nape strap was once replaced with a mid-WW2 cotton HBT model. An extremely nice early M1 Helmet combo which would be nearly impossible to upgrade.
