Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB and BOXED example of a 5th Model 1940's WW2 German Luftwaffe Junghans Clock, Fl. 23885! This type was used in other aircraft such as the Me109, Fw190, Me110, Me262, and many others!Mounted on the main instrument panel, this clock needs no introduction. It was made famous throughout the war as the standard German Aircraft Cockpit Clock. It was usually mounted on the front or side cockpit consoles and features a chronometer, adjustable bezel, and a 30-minute timer.Made of aluminum with a bakelite bezel and dating around 1945, this last (5th) model Junghans clock is in EXCELLENT unused condition! Featuring the screw on back, it retains 99% of its original RLM66 cockpit paint that was applied hastily (typical for 1945 production). Some very slight marks from storage, but nothing that detracts. The dial still glows at night (must be charged with UV light), and it is 100% complete! Data plate is still clear and legible. It is 100% FUNCTIONAL, the AMAZING feature is that is comes with the original issue box (though damaged, and missing the lid)! One if the NICEST I have seen in a while, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, panel re-build, or restoration project!
