WW2 German Wehrmacht – 5.0cm PaK 38 / KwK39 MUZZLE BRAKE – Sd.Kfz. 234/2 – RARE!

You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Wehrmacht 5cm Pak 38 muzzle brake, as used on the 5 cm Panzerabwehrkanone 38 (Pak 38) and the 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 cannon! In addition to the towed variant, this was also mounted on the Sd.Kfz. 234/2 'Puma' armored car and other late-war vehicles!Developed by Rheinmetall-Borsig, the 5cm Pak 38 entered service in 1940 and remained one of the Wehrmacht's most effective anti-tank guns through 1943. Its distinctive double-baffle muzzle brake absorbed much of the recoil energy, allowing for rapid follow-up shots and stable operation on both field carriages and armored mounts. The same gun tube design, adapted as the KwK 39, equipped several armored fighting vehicles, including the Sd.Kfz. 234/2 reconnaissance vehicle.Made of machined steel, this muzzle brake remains in VERY GOOD used condition. Quite solid, it features period machining marks, sharp baffle edges, and original wartime steel construction. The surface exhibits light pitting, scattered corrosion flecks, and abrasion along the edges, consistent with long-term storage or recovery from a range or depot environment. As such, it was re-painted post-war to prevent any further corrosion. Some of the original manufacture markings and stamps are still visible. A heavy, authentic ordnance component – PERFECT for display with an AT-gun restoration, Sd.Kfz. vehicle exhibit, or ordnance collection!
