Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE and 100% ORIGINAL set of WW2 German Luftwaffe Gefreiter (Private) Krangenspeigel Collar Tabs!Featuring the yellow background, these were specific to the flying (both bomber and fighter) units. On April 14, 1935 collar tabs were adopted by the newly formed Luftwaffe which followed the basic pattern that had been utilized by the Deutscher Luftsportsverband (the Luftwaffe's clandestine civilian forerunner). Collar tabs were worn in matching pairs and indicated the branch of service and rank of the wearer. The different branches of service within the Luftwaffe were allocated specific, identifying Service Colors, with golden yellow being chosen for personnel serving with the Flieger (Flight) units. This auction features a complete matching set of German Gefreiter (Private) Collar Tabs!Featuring two stamped alloy rank 'gulls' and a yellow buckram backing, this is a matching set, in VERY NICE condition! Sadly, there is one small tear in one (see photos), but it should still display quite well. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
