Nordland or 'Wiking' Divisional Podium Banner

This podium banner represents the ancient symbol Sonnenrad or 'sun wheel' emblem adopted by the SS Wiking division and elements of nordland and other nordic SS volunteers. The banner is a polished cotton and silk blend material with gold twisted edge Fringe on the bottom edge. The top has 2 clips that are manufacturer (SS-RZM) marked. The whole piece measures 73 by 75 centimeters. The piece was brought back by the G.I. who is pictured in this listing. He was a PFC in a quartermaster unit, and had evidently an ample opportunity to take souvenirs from what might have been a training barracks. Some of the other items in the grouping that this banner came with included armbands and other things, some of which were not in full-finished form, or they were totally unissued.
