WH (Heer) Gebirgsjäger Cap Badge

WH (Heer) Mountain Trooper's Cap Badge (Mützen Abzeichen für Gebirgsjäger). On 2 May 1939 the 'Oberkommando des Heeres' authorized wear of a distinctive 'Edelweiß' tradition badge for Mountain Troop personnel and the design of the badge was based on a pattern worn by German Alpine troops in World War 1. This is an early aluminum construction cap-badge for wear on the left side of the mountain cap. The badge is showing the famous 'Edelweiß' flower. The badge is not visible maker marked. Nice example in very good condition!
