GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal (MM), QSA 1899-1902 With clasps for Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 & South Africa 1902 & WW1 PairTo- 20609.PTE.G.WRIGHT.6th.COY.IMP.YEO (QSA)& 12521.SJT.G.F.E.WRIGHT.8/E.KENT.R (MM)& G-250.PTE.G.F.E.WRIGHT.R.FUS (Pair)George Frederick Elliott Wright was born in Gorleston, Norfolk & lived in Rotherhithe, Surrey. He served with the Imperial Yeomanry during the Boer war of 1899-1902 & enlisted in to the 30th battalion of the Royal Fusiliers in WW1. He went on to transfer to the East Kent Regiment & was awarded the Military Medal for services in France with the 8th battalion. This was published in the London gazette 12-3-1917. He transferred to the 1st battalion & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders on the 1st day of the March offensive 21-3-1918. He is buried in Achiet-Le-Grand communal cemetery extension.The medals are NEF or better & the plaque is housed in a large & heavy bronze frame.Complete with copy service papers, medal roll details, CWGC details & SDGW details. Along with other basic military & biographical details.The postage price reflects the weight of the frame for the plaque & THIS GROUP CAN NOT BE POSTED OVERSEAS.
