Balaklava, Sebastopol, Indian Mutiny 1857-85 with Lucknow clasp & Turkish Crimea with Sardinian obverseTo- CPL.W.MINNES.42nd.RL.HIGHLANDERS.William Minnes from Abroath was born in 1824 & enlisted in to the Black Watch 20-5-1842. He served with the regiment in both the Crimea & Indian Mutiny & was slightly wounded at Lucknow 11-3-1858. He was discharged in 1863 & having several entries on the regimental defaulters book he was not entitled to the LS&GCVF or better & complete with copy service papers & medal roll details. Some minor contact marks & wear to all medals. The Crimea pair are period engraved in a known style for this regiment. Whilst the Indian Mutiny is officially impressed as issued.
