Transitional Double Marked SA Service Dagger by Carl Eickhorn

Available
$925.00

Description

The blade shows spots, surface grime, scratches, and typical runner marks, but with some visible cross grain being evident. There is intact burnishing of the motto, with very good contrast of the motto against the blade. The reverse ricasso has the squirrel maker mark of the firm of Carl Eickhorn that was used from 1935 to 1941, together with the firm RZM code of M7/66 and '1939'. The wooden grip has a nicely detailed nickel political eagle inset into the grip. At the top of the grip is the enamel SA runes button which is without damage. The grip itself shows age but it is without chips or cracks and it fits the guards very well. The guards show minor wear to the plating at the edges. There is also wear to the plating on the top of the nut on the upper guard. The dagger is very tight within the scabbard. The scabbard shows spots of wear to the finish, but the finish is for the most part intact. Overall very good condition.
