British WWI Victory Medal, American, 47th Canadian Inf, Military Medal Winner

Original era manufacture. British WWI Victory medal, named to 2137343 CPL.C.A.GARTEN 47th-CAN.INF. Chester A Garten was born in Abilene Kansas in 1880, he served in the U.S.Navy 1903-1907, married Margaret Elizabeth Garten and joined the Canadian Army in May of 1917. He served in France with the 47th Battalion CEF and was awarded the Military Medal in April of 1918. Copies of his attestation paper and document stating the award of the Military Medal are included.
