EXTREMELY EARLY, INITIAL PRODUCTION HITLER YOUTH KNIFE BY EICKHORN.

I have to admit in the 100's of HJ knives I have handled, very early ones by Eickhorn do not appear! All steel hilt construction nickel plated. Chequered grip plates, which look to be ebony wood or Bakelite rather than celluloid, but I could be wrong. The blade has a full Blut und Ehre motto and NO blade riccasso, so thst really dates it. The Eickhorn trademark is one of their earliest from examples. A oval with a simple Eickhorn squirrel. Underneath Solingen and Ges.Gescutzt. Used from 1931-33!!! The very start of the HJ etc. Scabbard is straight with no damage. Has lost original black paint but retains the anodised finish underneath. Brown leather belt loop and cross strap with working popper. At some time, an attempt has been made to prise out the enamel HJ diamond and has chipped the grip plate around it.
