US 1883 Fort Bascom New Mexico Territory, Freight Bill Payment

Original era letter. Notice of payment of a freight bill of $12.00 shipped from Las Vegas New Mexico, dated what looks to be January 11th of (18)83. Bug damage as shown. Fort Bascom was established in 1863 and abandoned by the army in 1870. It lies in eastern New Mexico about 12 miles north of Tucumcari.
