US Indian Wars Era 1881 Cavalry Enlisted Helmet

Original era manufacture. An honest 1881 pattern helmet with all original components. Likely assembled from parts years ago. The body is not crushed or broken, the edge binding is intact with minor scattered cracks, and scuffing, no areas of missing leather. The thin leather band around the base of the helmet is sound, no chinstrap.Original horsehair plume, with original metal fittings, with a Cavalry plate. There are no extra holes in the body behind the plate, or the other metal fittings.Overall the helmet has a pleasing, tone finish, showing the individual components have been together for a long time.
