Finnish Moisin/Nagant M39 Rifle Bayonet & Scabbard

Original era manufacture. A scarce bayonet produced for the Finnish Army and Civil Guard. According to Kiesling, the Civil Guard ordered 10,000 bayonets in 1941, most were scrapped in the 1970's. Our example comes with it's SK.Y marked green leather scabbard of riveted and sewn construction. Overall steel patina finish to the metal portions of the bayonet including scabbard & blade. The blade is clean, showing typical service use with a few very shallow nicks in the edge towards the base. The one piece grips show typical age and wear with traces of the original varnish finish remaining. There is a thin crack running from the base of the guard, almost to the pommel on the right side. A scarce bayonet from what we've been able to learn.
