This is excellent.History: Bill has written a great blog on the TeNo, which you can findhere:The TeNo or Technischen Nothilfe, (Technical Emergency Corps) was created very early after WWI, in 1919. Civilian volunteers were called upon to maintain and repair essential services in the event of a natural disaster or emergency. TeNo was administered under the Minister of the Interior, until mid-1939 when it became an official State organization under control of the Police which in turn was controlled by the SS. As the war dragged on TeNo, became more and more a para-military organization with its direction becoming more controlled by the Waffen-SS.
