Description
Stunning and extremely rare one-looker original M40 helmet with white winter camouflage paint. Blue base Luftwaffe helmet, covered in white camouflaged paint, roughly applied with brush strokes. The paint saw much wear, but the helmet remains in very good condition for its age. Complete with original installed liner, draw string and full length chin strap. The white paint was also used on the inner rim, and is sometimes spilled on the steel liner band as well. The leather itself remains supple and strong. Shell marked by ET64, lot number ET64. Winter camouflage helmets are only seldom encountered as most soldiers used White Wash, a chalck based removable substance that went off after a winter offensive, or they simply oversprayed the white paint with other tones of spring/summer colors – so finding a white camouflage helmet could be seen as very rare! Unqiue chance to obtain a unquestionable example!
