GVR 1914 Star trio with GVIR Imperial Service MedalTo- 970.PTE.J.McKAY.2/R.HIGHRS (1914 Star)970.PTE.J.McKAY.R.HIGHRS (Pair)& JOHN.McKAY (Imperial Service Medal)John Mckay enlisted in to the 2nd Black Watch 23-8-07 & first landed in France with the battalion 12-10-1914. He is recorded in the war office casualty list as having been wounded 3-12-1914 & he went on to be discharged with a silver war badge due to his wounds 25-9-1915. He received the ISM in the London gazette 25-5-1951 for his services as a postman in Perth.The trio is GVF or better & mounted as worn. It has a tailors copy August to November 1914 clasp on the ribbon of the 1914 & whilst I have no doubt he may well be entitled to it? he never actually applied for it. The ISM is NEF & Mounted from the original presentation ribbon & pin.Complete with MIC details, silver war badge roll details, casualty roll details & London gazette details.
