WWII German Moel 1940 Army Camouflage Helmet

WWII German Moel 1940 Army Camouflage Helmet-This example had the decal removed (traces visible) and a green camouflage finish added. This finish remains about 60% intact. The original finish is seen on the interior. There is a brown leather liner, sized 57. It does show some wear and discoloration but it is still very soft and in good overall condition. There is a drawstring and a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1939 and size stamped 64/57. There is a name painted onto the rear skirt. The side of the interior is stamped NS 66 indicating production by Nickelwerke in Schwerte in the size of 66. Yes, the liner and the shell do not match indicating that the liner and band are not original to this shell. Looking at them, they seem to fit just fine but they are not original to each other. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number DN 20? A sound example!
