Description

A beautiful set from a Victorian officer's cross belt all in very high-quality silver plate. First is the ornate buckle decorated with foliage, the white metal badge of the 105th regiment of foot, the lion head whistle boss, whistle in its original cup and at the bottom the other end of the strap bucklewith matching decoration. All modern mounted on a piece of black leather with a hanging hook so it can be nicely displayed.The 105th regiment of foot, the Madras Light Infantry after the Childers reforms of 1881 they were amalgamated with the 51st (2nd Yorkshire West Riding) Regiment of Foot to form the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.All are original period pieces including the rare 105th badge. All come in very good condition slight wear to the silver plate but hardly noticeable and modern nuts on the back, these are nylon lock nuts so the original threads are not damaged. The strap measures 16.5 inches long.
