Description
A real rarity today, this WW1 issue Brodie Helmet was dug from the western front many years ago. It is totally as found and although it may be classed as semi-relic condition, it is in a condition where it could be restored, if wanted. But how it is now could be considered as an important piece of history. It is still covered with mud, although the shell is quite sound. On the front of the helmet is the little applied bar to put a cap badge and on the side is what remains of the original decal. The rim has rusted through in places, a common probable at the time, that's why later Brodies had aluminium rims. It has remains of its original liner and chin strap, which again is in a condition which could be restored. But it would be a real shame to alter this incredible piece of untouched history. Please see pictures.
