Vintage United States Army Distinguished Service Medal with Bar

A good vintage example of the American army distinguished service medal with accompanying bar, the medal was instituted in January 1918 and was awarded to any serving person who had performed exceptionally meritorious service in a duty of great responsibility. As you might expect as an American award it is quite bright and blingy, a full sized medal in excellent condition.
