The numerous documents cover the service of Josef Kohlbecher, and they relate to his service in the RAD labor service prior to the war and in the army artillery during the war. The group includes his soldbuch as well as his wehrpass, together with multiple associated mateials. The wehrpass and the soldbuch record the award of decorations which included the War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords, as well as the Iron Cross First and Second Class. The award document for the War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords is included within the group. The soldbuch shows some ink stained pages, but overall the documents in the group are complete and legible.
