Description
This is an original U.S. Army M1943 Field Jacket in exceptional, near-unissued condition, showing only the lightest signs of storage and virtually no wear. The jacket retains its strong olive drab coloration, crisp fabric, and fully intact buttons—an outstanding and hard-to-find example. The inner specification label is still present and fully legible. Maker marked and dated 1944.This jacket features original unit insignia neatly hand applied (hard to say when…) to both sleeves:• Rank: First Sergeant (1SG)Large embroidered chevrons with three stripes, three rockers, and the distinctive diamond (lozenge) in the center. The insignia are clean, sharp, and match the jacket's excellent condition.• Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: 2nd Infantry Division ('Indianhead Division')The classic black shield with a white five-pointed star and Native American head profile in the center.Colors remain vivid, and stitching is tight—an iconic combat division seen in Normandy, the Ardennes, and Korea. This jacket is a premium addition for collectors of WWII and early post-war U.S. Army uniforms. High-grade M43 jackets are becoming increasingly difficult to find in this condition.
