US SAW-WWI Era, Rock Island Arsenal Cap Badge

Original period manufacture. A very interesting cap badge based on similar US Army specialty hat insignia which were adopted around the time of the Spanish American War up to WWI. Silvered alloy with a screwpost reverse. The small centering pin at the top reverse, has broken away. Measures 65 mm in width.
