German Cold War Era NVA DDR Steel Helmet, 1978 Issue

Original period manufacture. Prototypes of this pattern helmet existed during WWII but were never adopted by the Wehrmacht. They were however, later used by the East German Army after 1957. This one shows service use, with a later type liner. Clear 78 date and size mark II.
