WWII Eickhorn Field Marshal Series 'Derfflinger' Pattern Officer Sword

The dove head sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38 inches, with a blade length of approximately 33 inches. The blade exhibits typical subtle spots and scratches, but generally it is very bright. The ricasso bears the Eickhorn squirrel trademark that was in use from 1935 to 1941. The black celluloid grip is without chips or cracks ad it remains tightly triple wrapped with silver wire. The guard, knuckle bow, back strap and pommel all show wear to the fir gilt finish, but much of the finish is retained, particularly on the guard. The black scabbard paint is intact, while showing age and areas of wear. Overall the sword is in very good to excellent condition.
