VERY RARE TEARDROP HANGER FOR LUFTWAFFE SWORD.

Any of the attachments for Luftwaffe swords are very rare and hard to find if you want to complete a sword. In most cases the integral crescent leather hanger, that's attached to the scabbard rings is missing. Perished or broken over the years. To find the hanger that connected THIS to the belt, is even harder to acquire. This is a dark blue leather hanger with DRGM marked large snap clip. It also has the D ring belt loop. Front of the hanger has lost its blue colour and is brownish now but the reverse shows the original blue. The leather is profusely stamped on the reverse. It has the Luftwaffe LBA acceptance/issue letters and also the makers mark of Otto Koberstein from LANDSBERG a.W. 1936. This would have supported an early Luftwaffe officers sword with all nickel fittings.So this rare hanger is now 89 years old!!
