Description

From my personal collection: Found un USA, never in a collection before, offering a very rare early and typical 'Afrikakorps' camouflage helmet in 'tan/' color. The helmet is a single decal army example, spray painted in tan color. The army decal is still clearly present under the paint. Complete with original liner, leather remains supple and strong. Period draw string present, as well is the 1940 dated chin strap (shows a tear). The split pins are lacking their washers, as the helmet might have been used as bowl during the Afrika campaign, the liner came out. However the liner is original to the helmet, showing splotches of the tan colored camouflage paint on the steel metal liner band. A stunning extremely hard to find early Afrika campaign helmet! Markings ET64 – 764.
