German WWII Heer Army 1944 Dated Heavy Burlap Ration Grain Sack-This heavy burlap sack is fully intact. This is the standard issue Heer ration grain sack, which measures approx. 47 inches (119 cm) high, and 28 inches (71cm) wide. A steady supply of food was of utmost importance to any fighting force, and these sacks were the preferred way of transporting grain. This bag has a large stenciled Wehrmachtadler (Armed forces eagle) on obverse side and astencilon the reverse, H. Vpfl. 1943. The initials are for Heeres Verpflegung, or 'Army Rations'. There is some discolorationand spots of stains and one field repair on the obverse side. This bag presents very well.Overall, an interesting collectible.
