German WWII Heer Army 1944 Dated Heavy Burlap Ration Grain Sack-This heavy burlap sack is fully intact. This is the standard issue Heer ration grain sack, which measures approx. 41 inches (104.14 cm) high, and 28 inches (71cm) wide. A steady supply of food was of utmost importance to any fighting force, and these sacks were the preferred way of transporting grain. This bag has a large stenciled Wehrmachtadler (Armed forces eagle), over a stencil, identifying the maker. On the reverse is a stamp with H. Verpfl. 1944. The initials are for Heeres Verpflegung, or 'Army Rations'. There is some discoloration. This bag presents very well.Overall, an interesting collectible.
