Description
Beautiful textbook M35 steel helmet, reissued example ca. 1943. This helmet, was factory reissued during the war, receiving a new thick rough field green layer of paint and a new decal. The decal is a textbook example that I like to see on reissued helmets, being produced by Methner and Burger (Grey lined eagle). It remains nice and intact. The helmet is complete with its 1943 dated liner and you can clearly see the split pins are untouched and straight. The leather itself is supple, exexuted in pig-skin and remains in very good condition. The helmet is complete with its period shortened chin strap and draw string. Shell markings are not visible due to the thick sand mixed paint. The helmet was nicely camouflaged during the war in tan stripes using spray paint. A nice extra 'touch' is a firm bullet hit on the right side, even shows a dent in the steel liner band inside. A beautiful UNTOUCHED M35 army steel helmet!
