Imperial Japanese Army Type 90 combat helmet with cover and veteran related items, includes capture certificate, pennant from U.S. Naval vessel LST 487, photograph of sailor when he served on LST 457 and two packs of unopened cigarettes with Japanese paper stamps, helmet's steel shell is painted in contrasting olive colors, it has the Imperial star applied to the front, there are chips and scratches to the surface but approximately 90% of the factory paint remains, the three section leather liner is complete with pads and drawstring, the chin ties are full length and still knotted, kanji is applied to the rear inner shell in white paint, the leather liner band is separated at the rear seam; the padded cover is made of six panels of olive colored cotton, the drawstring is threaded through a tunnel sewn at the cover's lower edge, a yellow felt star machine sewn to an olive colored wool circle is machine sewn to the front of the cover, much of the star shape has been damaged by insects, the white side of the cover has black stampings, the pennant has a stapled paper tag explaining its origin, the pennant measures roughly 68x43cm, interesting grouping, USD $3850
