Description

A rare original circa 1940's period 'Royal Air Force Battle of Britain No 616 Auxiliary Air Force gilt and enamel badge' the centre depicting an embossed arrow though a Rose with Latin motto below 'NULLA ROSA SINE SPINA' (No rose without a thorn), the reverse impressed with maker's details 'H.W.Miller Ltd B'Ham 18'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.Height approx 33mm.616 Squadron was formed in 1938 at Doncaster as the last Squadron of the Auxiliary Air Force.
