WWII U.S. Army Mediterranean Air Force Pilot Tunic, Shirt and Tie with Bullion Patches

The set is comprised of the belted, four pocket officer tunic, together with the officer's 'pink' wool shirt and green wool tie. The tunic retains its interior pocket tag with a stated size of 38 Short. The tunic collar carries officer 'U.S.' and Army Air Force branch insignia. On the upper left breast is a full size, pin back, sterling pilot wing, maker marked 'LGB' for the firm of L.G. Balfour. Below the wing is a two place pin back ribbon bar with the ribbons for the Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters, and the European Campaign Medal ribbon with two campaign stars. The left shoulder carries a bullion Army Air Force shoulder patch, while the lower left sleeve has five overseas service chevrons. On the right shoulder is a bullion patch for the Mediterranean Air Force. The tunic is accompanied by the officer 'pink' shirt, which is marked as a size 14-1/2-32. The set includes the green wool necktie. The tunic and short exhibit signs of age and wear, but they are without damage and the set is in overall excellent condition.
