Description
Spanish Blue Division Medal-This is a scarce German award called the Commemorative Medal for Spanish Volunteers in the Struggle Against Bolshevism, which was awarded by Germany to the volunteers of the Spanish Blue Division who fought against the Soviet Union during World War II. This medal was not a Spanish military award, but a German one designed to recognize Spanish soldiers fighting with the German Army. This medal was awarded to members of the 250thinfantry division while they aided the Third Reich. This medal is made of bronze and shows the Spanish national eagle with an iron cross on its chest and topped with the Spanish crown. The reverse shows the Kremlin surrounded by a wreath of chain. The text below reads 'Rusia 1941'. This example has its original portion of ribbon which shows some aging but is in good shape overall. The pin setup at the top works as it should. This is a scarce badge with an interesting history to it.
