US WW2 Army Airborne / Glider Insignia Garrison cap patch

Original World War II U.S. Army Airborne / Glider patch, machine embroidered on wool felt backing. The insignia depicts a transport aircraft combined with a parachute motif, commonly associated with U.S. Army airborne and glider elements during the Second World War. This type of insignia is worn on the garrison (overseas) cap, rather than being a regulation shoulder sleeve insignia. Construction, materials, and embroidery are fully consistent with wartime manufacture (circa 1942–1945). Condition is very good, showing honest period wear and age. Colors remain strong and the embroidery is well defined.
