German WWII Enlisted Man's RAD Hewer-Fine example with early nickel silver fittings throughout.This is a blade by a rare maker.The true stag handles areexcellent.There is some lifting to the finish on the cross guard, but overall the fittings look very good. The original black enamel painton the scabbardis better than70% intact.There is some slight finish loss to the scabbard fittings, but the details are exquisite.Each of the four screws on the scabbard fittings does have slight burring, indicating these might have been turned at one point. The blade has the RAD motto, which translates to 'work ennobles.' The back of the blade has all of the typical characteristics of a hewer. It has theSolinger Axt und Hauerfabrik logo, along with the RADj logo.
