Description

Luftwaffe M35 double decal helmet with early pattern eagle, shell stamped ET.66, lot number 2799, having factory applied glossy blue grey colored paint, the toned eagle and national colors decals have a few gouges and scuffs, the helmet pins have varying degrees of their original paint, the side pins have a bit of play in them, the shell's external finish has a few scrapes and chips, mostly to the upper dome and the helmet was clearly stacked at one time, neither the unreinforced aluminum liner nor the pins with their washers have been disturbed and there is significant dust build up between bands and shell, the tan colored leather liner has minor chafing at the edges, the fingers are not torn and its drawstring remains, it has a circular embossing with the 1937 date the full length brown leather chinstrap is full length and maker marked, it is a bit dry, due to the helmet's high reflectivity certain images may show colors and shadows from items in the vicinity of where the helmet was photographed, helmet was found in 1964 in the attic of a house bought in Nazareth Pennsylvania USA, USD $3575 HOLD
