A rare original First World War period 'Women's Emergency Land Corps badge'; large white celluloid pin button, bearing black printed 'HERTS WAR AGRICULTURAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE title surround and inscribed 'WOMEN'S EMERGENCY LAND CORPS' to centre. Good condition, complete with original pin fitting, no cracks, minimal foxing.Diameter approx 44mm.Hertfordshire Women's War Agricultural Council Executive Committee held its first meeting on 12 April 1916 with the Hon Mrs Abel Smith in the Chair.
