Description
A very nice example of the smaller 7 1/2' army dagger miniature. As many of you know, I have specialised and collected theses for nearly 40 years, so I know all the different variations. This is a solid cast hilt type. The crossguard, grip and pommel are all cast together. Incredible detail. The grips on these are painted to look like celluloid and come in a variety of colours, cream, yellow, orange etc. This one has been painted white. About 50% of the white paint remains, the rest has been rubbed off due to use. Scabbard is a perfect example with carrying rings etc. The blade is unmarked (they all are on these) and is brightly nickel plated. It's been used as a letter opener or similar, and there is slight wear to the nickel plating. A marvellous little original miniature.
