Scarce WW II enamelled lapel badge with brooch pin fitting individual issue number and makers details for Vaughtons Birmingham to the reverse. The blue cross on a white background within a circlet bearing the title, ' National A.R.P. Animals' above the scroll, ' Chief Guard'. This was one of the scarcer pattern badges produced for the National Air Raid Precautions Animal Committee tasked with caring for injured or abandoned animals particularly after an air raid.
