German WWII Assistant Stretcher Bearer Armband-This Auxiliary Stretcher Bearer's armband was worn by personnel assisting military medical and Red Cross personnel in the service of removing the wounded from the battlefield. This example is made of a woven white rayon with a black embroidered Gothic script that reads 'Hilfs Krankenträger' (Auxiliary Stretcher Bearer). The script is encompassed by a black embroidered, rectangular border. Both the top and bottom edges of the armband have a dual-ply, machine stitched, hem and the reverse has a machine stitched, vertical seam in the center. The armband is in very good condition. Very clean!
